VENDOR BULK UPLOAD VARIATION PRODUCTS

On United States Wholesale, vendors have the opportunity to upload their products using our bulk-import tool.

This tool also works for products that have variations of the same product.

On this page, you will receive step-by-step instructions on how the process works.

To bulk upload products without variations visit our Vendor Bulk Upload Products page

ATTENTION: IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS YOURSELF, WE OFFER CUSTOM ONBOARDING SERVICES FOR A FEE.

VISIT OUR VENDOR CUSTOM ONBOARDING PROCESS

We can onboard your products for you for a fee. By doing so, we will also import all the images from your website and attach them to the products, which will save you a significant amount of time.

Step 1 - Create parent product

In your Vendor Dashboard, go to the Products Section and click “Add new Product”

Add product name, image, description, price and category.

Add your product as a simple product. Make sure to give your products an SKU, this will be used to link the variations later.

We will use EXAMPLE SKU for demonstration purposes.

You can also add products description, weight etc if all variations will have the same. If not, leave these blank and add them later to the variations.

Click, “Create Product”

STEP 2 - GET CSV FILE - CREATE VARIABLES

  1. Go to Tools / Export and click “export CSV”
  2. Click “Generate CSV”
  3. Save file on your computer.
  4. Open file and remove all products except the one you just created and want to create variations for.
  5. Update the following columns:
    1. Type – Change to “variable
    2. Attribute 1 name – Enter the variation name – in this case, “Color
    3. Attribute 1 value(s) – Enter all the different variation types – in this case, “Blue, Red, Black, White” (make sure to comma separate the values)
If “Attribute 1 name’ and “Attribute 1 value(s)” are not in the CSV file, simply create new columns.

STEP 3 - UPLOAD CSV FILE

Go to Tools and click “Import CSV“.

Select your file and make sure to check the “Update Existing Products” checkbox.

Click CONTINUE and upload your CSV – if everything is done properly it should say “1 Product Updated” (Your product has been updated to a variable with attributes. We will add the variations next)

STEP 4 - CREATE VARIATIONS

In the same CSV file you just uploaded, create a new line for each variation you want to create (you can copy and paste the main product if you want to keep the same description, image, etc., and just update the weight accordingly)

For example, to create the 4 variations we’re using in this example, we will create 4 new lines/products.

Update the following columns:

  • ID: Make sure the column is empty
  • Type: change from “variable” to “variation
  • SKU: Add you product SKU
  • Parent: Enter the SKU of the first product added, in this case “EXAMPLE SKU” – Do this for all variations you want to link
  • Attribute 1 name: Enter the variation name – in this case, “Size
  • Attribute 1 value(s): Give the products one of each of the attributes we created in the previous step.
  • ADDITIONALLY – update all other columns needed such as price, weight, descriptions, tags, stock, inventory, etc. (these could also be added manually later but is easier to add them in the bulk upload)

Save the file (MAKE SURE THAT THE ORIGINAL “VARIABLE” PRODUCT IS REMOVED FROM THIS LIST. ONLY INCLUDE THE “VARIATIONS“)

STEP 5 - UPLOAD FINAL CSV

Go to Tools and click “Import CSV“.

Select your file and DO NOT check the “Update Existing Products” checkbox this time.

Click CONTINUE and upload your CSV – when completed it should say “4 Product Added” (or the amount of products you are creating)

AND YOU'RE DONE!

That’s it! You have now created variations linked to the original product using the bulk upload tool.
